Refund of tuition
Please note that we cannot transfer course fees/tuition to subsequent academic calendars.

If a credit card was used for payment, the refund will be issued to the cardholder’s account. If payment was made by cash, debit card, cheque, or invoice, the refund will be issued by cheque.
Three ways to cancel registration before your course starts:
- Cancel the course using Bear Tracks: Log into Bear Tracks and remove yourself from the course.
Note: Students in the English Language Program cannot cancel a course using Bear Tracks at this time. - Email your completed Withdrawal Request form (PDF) to extnregistration@ualberta.ca
- Fax your completed Withdrawal Request form (PDF) to 780.492.0627
Dropping or Withdrawing
Dropping a course (up to 20% into your course)
The course will not display on your U of A transcript.

Withdrawing from a course (20-70% into your course)
The course will display on your U of A transcript with grade of ‘WP’.
Non-attendance does not constitute notice of withdrawal from a course. If you choose to withdraw from a course, contact our Registration Office and submit your written withdrawal request.

Transferring between courses
Deadline: • 5 days prior to the start of your course
except in the case of 13 week classes where the transfer deadline is before the beginning of the third class.
Fee: $50
You may transfer between courses in the same term provided there is space in the course to which you wish to transfer. In all cases, a $50.00 transfer fee will be charged.
Transfer your course by filing out the transfer request form (PDF). Submit the form to the Registration office via fax at 780.492.0627 or email to extnregistration@ualberta.ca.
Course fees are non-transferable to subsequent academic calendars.

The Faculty’s refund, course-drop, and withdrawal policies have changed. Please read the following information to find out how these changes may impact you. The new withdraw policy comes into effect July 1, 2011.
