CCOHS is now accepting entries for the 2010-11 Dick Martin Scholarship Award. Awarded annually, this $3000 national scholarship is available to any student enrolled, either full-time or part-time, in an occupational health and safety related course or program leading to an occupational health and safety certificate, diploma or degree at an accredited college or university in Canada. Programs include mine safety, occupational or industrial health and safety, industrial hygiene, safety management or other related safety degree program.

The Alberta Gas and Oil Pipeline Operator Safety Council Scholarship (the Scholarship) is designed to encourage and support students entering the health & safety profession. The Scholarship was established in 2012, by the Alberta Gas and Oil Pipeline Operator Safety Council (AGOPOSC) and is designed to reward Alberta post-secondary students enrolled in an undergraduate or professional program pertaining to health and safety. The Scholarship program is fully sponsored by the AGOPOSC. The Scholarship may be applied for by full or part time student(s) enrolled in a 2, 3 or 4 year post secondary Occupational Health & Safety Program.
Scholarship Applications must be received prior to the February 15 deadline. The Scholarship will be limited to a maximum of $1,000 per year per recipient.

The Job Safety Skills Society (JSSS) has established a new OH&S Scholarship in memory of James Rintoul who died as a result of a workplace incident. The James Rintoul OH&S Memorial Scholarship is funded by the Job Safety Skills Society to support the completion of an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Certificate taken through the Faculty of Extension, University of Alberta.
This memorial scholarship will be awarded to a graduate with a High School Diploma from an Alberta high school or be expecting to graduate with a High School diploma from an Alberta high school in the year of application, who meets the required eligibility criteria (available online at www.jobsafetyskills.com or by contacting the JSSS at (866) 513-6876).
For the annual scholarship winner, the costs of enrolling in courses leading to the earning of Faculty of Extension, University of Alberta OH&S Certificate will be paid by the Job Safety Skills Society up to a total of $5,500.

The OHS Certificate Program provides participants with the necessary tools to build, evaluate, and improve effective health and safety management systems.
Alberta Employment and Immigration awards a $500 cash award to the students graduating with the highest grade point average. This award is presented at the annual graduation ceremony which takes place each year in June.
